This is where you start your studies in beauty therapy whether you are doing the complete course or just the beauty specialist course. We cover ITEC level 2 Beauty Specialist and ITEC level 3 Facial electrical treatments. 

On completion of this course students can progress onto the body therapy course to complete their full qualification.

 

Course content -

 

Skincare and Eye  

  • Cleansing techniques and product knowledge in professional product ranges -Dermalogica – Epionce– Skinician.
  • Skin Analysis – Essential skills tobe able to analyse skin types, conditions, and disorders.
  • Exfoliation Techniques – The use of products for manual exfoliation, enzeme peels, AHA’s and Alpha Hydroxy Acids.
  • Deep Cleanse – The use of electrical brush cleansing machines and Ozone steaming.
  • Massage Techniques – To include the face, neck, chest and shoulders. The use of treatment oils and essential oil blending.
  • Masks – Application and Knowledge on various mask products, from clay, fruit, hot oil and paraffin wax.
  • Brow and Lash Treatment – Master the art of the perfect brow – Tint, Wax and Mapping.
  • Lash Enhancement – Tinting Techniques to lengthen and define the look of lashes.

The Facial Experience – Learning how to adapt all the above skills to tailor make a prescription facial for any skin types or condition.

 

Manicure & Pedicure

  • Basic and Deluxe Manicure and Pedicure treatments including Gel polish training for the ultimate 3-week manicure. Includes product knowledge and Anatomy and Physiology of the hand and foot.

 

Make Up 

Covering make-up looks for day, evening and special occasion including background information on skin base products. 

Related theory on working with different face shapes, contouring and colour knowledge.

  • This part of the course is taught by a professional make-up artist. 

 

Waxing

  • Cool and Hot wax systems are both taught in this section and include full leg, bikini, underarm, facial waxing, and the perfect brow.
  • Advanced waxing can be added to this part of the course after initial wax training for a fee of £100

 

Facial Electrical 

  • Essential for many high end salons and skincare ranges
  • Study and application of five pieces of electrical equipment which enhance the effectiveness of facial treatments 
  • Facial Electrical treatments are an advanced therapy to treat conditions on and below the skin surface.
  • This Qualification is essential to advance onto other skills such as Laser and Facial Aesthetics treatments.

 

Business Studies and Professional Conduct

Essential to have an in-depth knowledge of how a business operates including taxation, insurance, health and safety, hygiene and sterilisation and client care.

                   8 months approx. if taken part time
